Beit HaOtzar Fund for Terumot and Ma’aserot is a unique public service fund that enables members to observe the laws of separating terumot and ma’aserot in the most optimal fashion. 
 
Beit HaOtzar, founded in 5755 (1995) by Torah VeHa’aretz Institute, is headed by leading Torah scholars who are experts in the field. All halachic guidelines provided by Beit HaOtzar are based on the decisions of Rabbi Ya’akov Ariel, former chief rabbi of Ramat Gan and president of Torah VeHa’aretz Institute. The fund is run by the rabbis of Torah VeHa’aretz Institute, headed by Rabbi Yehuda HaLevy Amichay.

Subscription Details

Subscription to Beit HaOtzar gives you annual membership, which renews automatically each year aft, with prior notification. It is possible to cancel membership at any time. The subscription fee is NIS 80 annually for Yisrael, and NIS 40 for a Kohen/Levite. The tourist's fee is NIS 18 for a two-month subscription.

I would like to become a member of Beit HaOtzar, a fund run according to the appropriate halachic guidelines by the rabbis of Torah VeHa’aretz Institute.

Ma’aser Rishon Loan Agreement

AN AGREEMENT (hereinafter “this Agreement”)
BETWEEN:

Individual whose information is listed above (hereinafter “the Lender”)

OF THE FIRST PART

AND

Mr. (the Levite) (hereinafter “the Borrower”)

OF THE SECOND PART

Through a rabbi, a representative of the Torah VeHa’aretz Institute (hereinafter, “the Representative”).

The Representative confirms the loan at the sum detailed below annually, and commits to repay the loan on the Borrower’s behalf under the following terms:

  1. The loan may be repaid by the fruits of ma’aser rishon (first tithe) that the Lender gives to the Borrower throughout the year, starting from the time this Agreement takes effect.
  2. It is agreed that the value of the fruits, for the purposes of this Agreement, will be equivalent to the sum of the loan.
  3. The Lender commits to regularly give the ma’aser rishon in his possession to the Borrower and not to anyone else, which gives the Lender the status of makar Levi (close friend of the Levite).
  4. The loan is subject to all of the ordinances of Chazal (Gittin 30).
  5. This Agreement is valid and binding, and takes effect upon its submission by the Lender.

 

Ma’aser Ani Loan Agreement

AN AGREEMENT (hereinafter “this Agreement”)
BETWEEN:
Individual whose information is listed above (hereinafter “the Lender”)

OF THE FIRST PART

AND

The Tzedaka Committee affiliated with Beit HaOtzar, represented by a rabbi, a representative of Torah VeHa’aretz Institute [hereinafter “the Borrower”] 

OF THE SECOND PART

The Borrower confirms his loan at the sum mentioned below annually, and commits to repay the loan under the following terms:

  1. The loan may be repaid by the fruits of ma’aser ani (poor man’s tithe) that the Lender gives to the Borrower throughout that particular year, starting from the time this Agreement takes effect.
  2. It is agreed that the value of the fruits, for the purposes of this Agreement, will be equivalent to the sum of the loan.
  3. The Lender commits to regularly give the ma’aser ani in his possession to the Borrower and not to anyone else, which gives the Lender the status of makar ani (close friend of the poor person). This commitment does not apply to charity money.
  4. The loan is subject to the ordinances of Chazal (Gittin 30).
  5. This Agreement is valid and binding and takes effect upon its submission by the Lender.
