If you answered yes to either one of these questions, then you should you join The Machon Torah and Haaretz Fund for Terumot and Ma’aserot.

Virtually all fruits and vegetables that are grown in Israel, whether on a farm, orchard, or your own personal garden need to have Terumot and Ma’aserot separated from them before they can be eaten.  If you buy fruits and vegetables from a store or a person that does not have a reliable Teuda, then you need to separate Terumot and Ma’aserot .  If you have fruits or vegetables growing in your garden, then you definitely have to separate Terumot and Ma’aserot from them.

The Problem:  Most people that were educated outside of Israel are unfamiliar with the Halachot regarding separating Terumot and Ma’aserot, but in Israel these Halachot are applicable on virtually all fruits and vegetables that are grown here.

The Solution:  Joining The Machon Torah and Haaretz Fund for Terumot and Mas’serot provides an easy way of fulfilling the Mitzvah of separating Terumot and Ma’aserot:

The most complicated aspect of separating Terumot and Ma’aserot is redeeming the Ma’aser Sheni on a coin.  The coin, which is designated for this purpose, acquires a level of Kedusha, and the handling of it must be done by someone familiar with the relevant Halachot.

A person may use his own coin for this purpose, but most people find this to be a burdensome task because of the intricate Halachot that are involved.  But don’t worry, the Terumot and Ma’aserot Fund from Machon Torah and Haaretz was set up for this very purpose: to assist you in fulfilling these Mitzvot in the most Mehudar and efficient manner.

After becoming a member of our Fund, you only have to follow four easy steps to separate Terumot and Ma’aserot:

1. Assemble together each type of produce that is to be separated. (You can do one separation for your entire shopping trip).

2. Separate more than 1% of each type of produce.

3. Say the Nusach hafrasha (or short version) in Hebrew (or in English if you don’t fully understand the Hebrew text) that is supplied by Machon Torah VHaaretz.

4.Double wrap the 1%+ and dispose in the garbage.

The entire procedure can be done in two minutes.

An annual membership in our Fund is only  80 NIS  per year.
