The Problem:  You are obligated to separate Terumot and Ma’aserot from produce that is exported from Israel:

B”H we live in a time when Israeli fruits and vegetables are exported throughout the world.  The problem is that most companies that export Israeli produce do not separate Terumot and Ma’aserot, so this Mitzvah must be performed by the consumer even if the produce is bought outside of Israel.

The Solution:  Joining The Machon Torah and Haaretz Fund for Terumot and Mas’serot provides an easy way of fulfilling the Mitzvah of separating Terumot and Ma’aserot:

The most complicated aspect of separating Terumot and Ma’aserot is redeeming the Ma’aser Sheni on a coin.  The coin, which is designated for this purpose, acquires a level of Kedusha, and the handling of it must be done by someone familiar with the relevant Halachot.

A person may use his own coin for this purpose, but most people find this to be a burdensome task because of the intricate Halachot that are involved.  But don’t worry, the Terumot and Ma’aserot Fund from Machon Torah and Haaretz was set up for this very purpose: to assist you in fulfilling these Mitzvot in the most Mehudar and efficient manner.

After becoming a member of our Fund, you only have to follow four easy steps to separate Terumot and Ma’aserot:

1. Assemble together each type of produce that is to be separated. (You can do one separation for your entire shopping trip).

2. Separate more than 1% of each type of produce.

3. Say the Nusach hafrasha (or short version) in Hebrew (or in English if you don’t fully understand the Hebrew text) that is supplied by Machon Torah VHaaretz.

4. Double wrap the 1%+ and dispose in the garbage.

The entire procedure can be done in two minutes.

An annual membership in our Fund is only $36.00 per year.
